Nor’easter

This evening, I learned a new word: Nor’easter

I’m from Southern California. I’m used to earthquake drills and aftershocks that crack buildings. Not flood warnings. But I suppose this is what I get for living in a place called the Ocean State.

Thankfully, I live on a hill.

Don’t acquire it too quickly: it’s perhaps entirely spurious.

However: yes, welcome to the Northeast and its northeasters.

    lance,

i’ve been laughing about the “tableau” tableau since a friend showed it to me sophomore year.

    i’m that friend!

the wind uprooted a tree next to my window. luckily it didn’t crash into my room, it instead decided to collapse on top of bagel gourmet.

I just learned that word too! Kyle mentioned it and I had to wikipedia it.

Oh, good heavens, not the tableau tableau again! I’m telling you, no matter what I do, that’ll be what people read.

    Yo-Shang,

I’m glad that your room has survived. Is Bagel Gourmet still ok? I would be very sad if I had to go all the way to Thayer for a tasty egg&cheese bagel sandwich.

Aaron, the tableau tableau is on Lance’s site. Let me know if you have trouble finding it ;-)

Hah, that whole page is pretty great. I especially like the last two sentences of footnote 4.
