Okay LA
I’m starting to do things that I as a child really hated my parents for doing. I made my own snack pack today for the airport to avoid having to buy airport food. I made a curried quinoa tomato salad and grilled asparagus. I also packed a Clif bar, two bananas and an empty water bottle with two blueberry tea bags so I could make iced tea.
To be fair, my parents packed us snacks for Disneyland because they didn’t want to spend the money on Disneyland-priced food (which is reasonable enough now, I realize); I packed my own snacks because I find airport food to be terribly devoid of nutrition.
Anyway, the flights went well. I love the way Los Angeles looks from the air. The Death Star. The weather is absolutely fantastic and I had some delicious tacos & horchata while eating at the Kenneth Hahn park. There was a lake and a bunch of oil drills. Los Angeles is just so weird and absurd. I love pretending to be a tourist here.
More from the road later, but for now, here’s a triangle-shaped church. (It’s actually called the Triangular Church of Religious Sciences.)
EDIT: I just realized that I called the quinoa dish I made “curried quinoa tomato salad”–should I have said “schönfinkeled quinoa tomato salad” instead?

Everyone knows that tomato salad is best when it only accepts a single argument at a time.
