Yesterday was a holiday, but unless you live in the state of Rhode Island, you probably didn't even know it.
Alysha and I found out yesterday afternoon that it was Victory Day. Being the somewhat dense people that we are, we wondered: Victory Day? What victory? But of course it was Victory Day, as in V-Day (more specifically V-J Day), and no other state in the nation formally recognizes the day anymore as an observed holiday due to the nature of how the war ended.
Also yesterday, we went to the Providence Place Mall so that I could get my very first rolling pin from Crate & Barrel (for the low price of $6.95!). This acquisition is a very exciting one as it will make the process of making my own dumpling skins much less tedious (I had been using a can of Coke and rolling each skin individually...a process which takes hours).
Have also been making loads of homemade lemonade (see the Füd Flickr set in my stream), another process that has become much easier thanks to a new kitchenware purchase.
I've yet still to figure out the best way to post photos here, but hopefully I'll take some time to do that within the next week or so. My friend Matt is in town visiting for a few days, so I may not be as update-crazy.
